The deal was completed for the 24-year-old to join the Black Cats in English League One for an undisclosed fee, but has been previously reported to be around £300,000.

Stewart signed from St Mirren in 2018 and scored 28 goals in 82 appearances for the Staggies.

He played a vital part in the Championship and Challenge Cup winning campaign as well as both Premiership campaigns in 2019/20 & 2020/21.
