The experienced left-back joined the Staggies on a one-year deal after he was released from the Championship outfit.

Tremarco fills a gap in the squad at full-back after Sean Kelly, Richard Foster and Marcus Fraser all left Dingwall when their contracts expired.

The 34-year-old makes the step back up to the Premiership after seven years at Caley Thistle. During his time at Inverness, he lifted the Scottish Cup in 2015 and the Challenge Cup in 2018, while he was an unused substitute in the League Cup final in 2014.

Disappointments also followed during his time at the Caledonian Stadium though, as Inverness were relegated from the Premiership in 2017 and are yet to find a way to win promotion back to the top flight.

Tremarco himself has shown no signs of slowing down though.

He made 34 appearances across last season’s shortened campaign and said after his ICT release was confirmed that he felt he still had a lot to offer.

New manager Stuart Kettlewell agreed, and also pointed to his experience in the game as being invaluable, saying: “Carl has great experience in the game – he has played at some very good levels and everybody knows the talent he has.

“As well as playing here, Carl will use his experience to help develop our youngsters, including Josh Reid who plays in a similar position and Carl will be a wise, older head in the camp.

“It’s no secret we were looking to strengthen in the full-back areas, and we feel we have now done that and managed to bring in the right amount of quality and experience going into the new season.”

Tremarco already has links to the area, as he runs the Ross-shire branch of The Other Foot Soccer School, a coaching service for children to work on their weaker foot.

Kettlewell had spoken before bringing the Liverpudlian to the club of his desire to add a goalkeeper and a left-back to his squad before the start of the season, so County’s transfer business this summer may be nearing completion.

Tremarco is the third defender to move to Dingwall in this transfer window, which has been extended to early October.

Alex Iacovitti had already signed from Oldham Athletic, while Connor Randall joined from Bulgarian outfit Arda Kardzhali. Stephen Kelly and Regan Charles-Cook are the other names to have put pen to paper so far.
