Caitlyn Heggie was part of a Scottish team that won gold in the under-17 girls’ race at the London Mini Marathon last weekend.

Despite falling early on in the race, Dingwall Academy pupil Heggie finished 13th overall and third out of Scottish athletes to contribute to the team’s spot at the top of the podium.

Heggie was not the only Ross County athlete in action in London, as Lachlan Thomas was also in action having earned his spot into the boys’ under-15 race.

He finished 14th overall, and the fourth Scot – with that Scottish team also getting on the podium by winning a silver medal.

The Mini Marathon for secondary school pupils covers 2.6km of the main marathon course.

There were two runners from the club in the full senior race too, Kate Comisso and Robert Maclean.

Comisso crossed the line in a time of 3:26:45, slightly ahead of Maclean who completed the course in a time of 3:41:06.
