ROSS County will receive a seven figure windfall after former striker Ross Stewart sealed his move to Southampton.
The Staggies will get around £1.2 million for the deal after Southampton paid £10 million to Sunderland for the 27-year-old.
A clause was in place that Ross County would receive a 15 per cent sell out clause for any transfer deal Sunderland received after Stewart left the Stadium of Light.
Stewart signed for Ross County in 2018 from St Mirren and during his time at Ross County, he hit 28 goals in 69 starts across three seasons.
After moving to Sunderland in February 2021, Stewart hit 40 goals in 66 starts for the Black Cats.
Before injury in January last year, he hit 11 goals in a 14-game streak of form in England’s Championship.
