Ross County are one win away from guaranteeing a place in the last 16 of the League Cup with a narrow victory over Alloa Athletic.

Josh Sims opened the scoring after 17 minutes when he headed home a cross from Kazeem Olaigbe.

Alloa Athletic had a chance to equalise five minutes before half time from the penalty spot when Jack Baldwin fouled Ross MacIver.

But goalkeeper Jake Eastwood saved Conor Sammon's penalty.
