Ross County came back from two goals down to rescue a point at Easter Road and move out of the relegation zone in the Premiership.

Goals from Elie Jouan and Jair Tavares either side of half time gave Hibernian a two-goal advantage as the hosts looked comfortable in Edinburgh.

The Staggies were offered a lifeline when Hibs defender Allan Delferriere turned a Yan Dhanda cross into his own net and then Jordan White scored seven minutes from time to level the game.

The draw means Ross County move up to ninth place in the Premiership and six points clear of managerless St Johnstone at the bottom.

However, the Staggies have now gone seven games without a win in all competitions.

Ross County made two changes to the starting line-up that drew 3-3 at Motherwell last week.

George Turner replaced Yan Dhanda with Ben Purrington replacing George Harmon along with Will Nightingale returning to the bench.

Head coach Malky Mackay was looking for an improved defensive performance after their late collapse at Fir Park last weekend.

After a quiet start to the game, Ross County missed a golden chance to take the lead midway through the first half.

The Staggies cut open the defence with Simon Murray and Kyle Turner passing through the middle to set up James Brown who only had the goalkeeper to beat, but fired wide.

The hosts took the lead three minutes before half time when Youan fired a low drive from just inside the box, which took a deflection off Ben Purrington and out of the reach of goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.

Hibernian then doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half when Lewis Stevenson saw off his marker and released Tavares who was left on his own in the box to thunder a powerful drive past Laidlaw into the top left corner.

Ross County were given a lifeline with 15 minutes remaining when Deferriere turned a Yan Dhanda cross into his own net.

Substitute White then levelled the game late on when he was on the receiving end of a Simon Murray cross and then fired a thunderous shot into the net to rescue a point.
