Ross County golden boys shine at North Relay Championships in Nairn

ROSS County Athletics Club dominated the young males race at the North Cross Country Relay Championship winning gold and silver medals.

The team of Callum Crawford, George Comisso and Andrew Baird with a winning time of 27 minutes and one second.

Baird was the fastest athlete in the entire race as he completed his leg in a time of eight minutes.

Comisso completed his leg in a time of 9:20 and Crawford in a time of 9:41.

The team of Ben McNair, Jamie MacGruer and Noah Carson claimed second place in a time 27:26. Carson completed his leg in 8:21 with MacGruer in 9:15 and McNair in 9:50.

Inverness Harriers took third place with the team of Niall MacBean, Ewan Thompson and Angus Laird finishing in 28:34.

The Ross County team of Fraser Hume, Ewan MacDonald and William Sendall just missed out on a medal as the team finished in fourth place in a time 30:08.

Ross County also entered two teams in the junior girls race.

Sophie MacGruer, Tamara Bermann and Flora Sutherland came home in fourth place in 32:50.

While Skye Tinney, Anna Fraser and Daisy Hendry came in sixth place in a time of 35:06.

The junior girls race saw Inverness Harriers claim all three places on the podium. The team of Níamh Doorley, Anna Meek and Caitlyn Heggie claimed victory in a time of 28:33.

Rosie Conroy, Hannah Mackay and Katie Meek finished in second place in a time of of 29:50. Sophie Bertram, Aoibhe Doorley and Sky Simpson took third place in a time of 32:25.

East Sutherland Athletics Club won the men’s race led by two-time Highland Cross winner Ross Gollan from Edderton.

He along with Finlay Murray, Ruairidh Gollan and Alasdair Coupar claimed victory in 47:03.

Moray Road Runners claimed victory in the women’s race as they won gold in 42:32.
