ROSS County cut high-flying Aberdeen down to size with a fine home win in front of a bumper crowd.

In excess of 6,000 supporters made their way through the gates in Dingwall and the majority left delighted following a deserved 2-1 victory.

In a positive note for the future, it was teenager Steven Ross who hammered the nail in the coffin for Aberdeen with what was his first senior goal for the team.

That 49-minute strike followed a first half headed own goal by the Dons’ Mark Reynolds. While the visitors had plenty of the ball, County enjoyed the best chances in the first period.

Neil McGinn got one back for Aberdeen but County held on for a confidence-boosting 2-1 victory.

Full match report in the next Ross-shire Journal.
