Connor Randall says Ross County will not be putting any extra emphasis on tomorrow’s Premiership match against St Johnstone.

Results over the last couple of weekends have seen the gap at the bottom of the table close slightly, with the Perth Saints leapfrogging Dundee to rise off the bottom of the table.

Ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s match in Dingwall, four points separate the Staggies from St Johnstone, so it is the proverbial six-pointer.

Win, and County will go seven points clear of the side one place below them in the table and ensure the gap to either of the teams currently occupying the relegation zone will be a minimum of six points.

Lose, though, and County may well have to start looking over their shoulder again with St Johnstone moving one point behind them – and Dundee also still having a game in hand.

However, despite the stakes involved Randall will treat it like any other match.

“At this stage of the season the games are always important,” the former Liverpool and Hearts full back reasoned.

“Every week in this league it’s a big game. We’re feeling confident and we’ll be approaching it the way we always do and look to go out and get the three points at the weekend.

“We’ll look forward to it like we do for every game, it’s another opportunity for us to get three points on the board. We’ll look at the opponents the way we do every other team.

“We’ll approach it the same way and go out there to get the three points.

“For us, we just have to concentrate on ourselves, that’s the most important thing.

“We can’t take too much notice of what’s going on around us, we just want to concentrate on our own games and performances and try to pick up as many points as we possible can.”

County hope to have one or two players back from injury, but goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer is likely to need another week.
