Ross County athletes win at North Cross Country Championships at Gordonstoun

Ross County Athletics Club claimed team gold in the under-15’s boys race at the North District Cross Country Championships at Gordonstoun.
Andrew Baird continued his dominance on the cross country scene when he won the under-15 race, claiming victory in a time of 13 minutes and 19 seconds.
He was 27 seconds ahead of team mate Lachlan Thomas who was second in a time of 13:46.
Israel Thomas of Fraserburgh denied a Ross County1-2-3 on the podium when he crossed the line in 14:10.
Kaeden Thomas of Ross County finished in fourth place in 14:20 and Calum Duffy was sixth in 14:32.
George Comisso came 11th in 15:15, Jamie Macgruer 16th in 15:31, Struan Ellen 18th in 15:44.
George Ross was 20th in 16:12 William Sendall 21st in 16:29.
There was also success for Ross County in the Under-13 boys race with Robbie Welsh winning with a time of 13:48.
Ewan Thompson from Inverness Harriers was second in 14:06 with Ross County’s Rowan Schiller third in 14:08. Ben McNair was seventh in 15:12 and Callum Crawford 12th in 16:04.
In the Under-17 men’s race, Noah Carson produced a superb effort to claim the bronze medal with a time of 21:30.
Roy Taylor of Elgin was crowned winner in 20:02 with Angus Laird second in a time of 21:18.
There were also notable performances in the under-13 girls race, where Tamera Bergman finished in sixth place in a time of 16:35.
Flora Sutherland finished in fifth place in the under-15 girls’ section in a time of 16:36.
