Ross County athletes set to run at Inverness Half Marathon and 5k

ROSS County Athletics Club athletes are set to run at the Inverness Half Marathon and 5k which takes place on Sunday.

The event has seen an entry of 4240 runners for this year’s races with 2940 in the half marathon and 1300 taking part in the 5k.

Ross County Athletics Club celebrated major success in the 5k last year when Lachlan Thomas claimed victory in a time of 16 minutes and 11 seconds.

He led a Ross County 1-2-3 with his twin brother Kaeden in second place in a time of 17:00 while Noah Carson completed a clean sweep of the podium positions for Ross County by taking third position in 17:32.

In the Inverness Half Marathon event, Kirkhill athlete Mhairi Maclennan is the favourite to win the women’s title.

In the men’s event, Cambuslang athlete Fraser Stewart is back to defend his title, with Maryburgh athlete Sean Chalmers expected to be a contender.
