FOOD, petrol and energy bills may be spiralling but there's a silver lining for Ross County fans!

The Victoria Park outfit this week revealed its "feelgood" credit crunch-busting plan to help ease the pain of the economic downturn - by announcing a freeze on season ticket prices.

Staggies fans who are under 12 can enjoy an entire season of the Dingwall-based side's 2011/12 campaign free of charge.

Anyone under 16 will be able to catch all of County's home games for just £20.

Declaring that it will also absorb the 2.5 per cent increase in VAT, the club has taken steps to offer tempting incentives to season ticket holders by offering a variety of payment plans and early bird deals.

The club’s head of administration, Ranald Gilbert, said, “There’s a real feelgood factor at the club at the moment – we finished the season in excellent form with three wins from our last three matches, key players such as Iain Vigurs, Johnny Flynn and Stuart Kettlewell have signed contract extensions and we’ve added more strength to the squad with Colin McMenamin and Grant Munro joining us for the 2011/12 campaign."

He said the return to managerial hot seat of Derek Adams made it an exciting season ahead.

He added, "I’m delighted the board have chosen to make sure it is accessible for fans. It’s always an easy option for football clubs to up their prices to try and raise a bit of extra cash, but with prices rising everywhere – especially food and petrol – I think it shows that we appreciate our supporters.

"Of course it works both ways as by making it affordable for fans to come to matches we help to ensure the team can continue to benefit from the fantastic support we’ve had in recent years.”

Every Ross County Season Ticket offers a minimum of five free games over the course of the season, with added benefits for those renewing early taking the form of the first home cup game free and a 10 per cent shop discount voucher for anyone purchasing by July 9.

Season Tickets are available to purchase online at www.rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk in person at Victoria Park or by telephoning 01349 860860 during normal office hours.
