ROSS County's controversial Irn Bru Division One fixture against Queen of the South this Tuesday has been switched to Stirling.

Last Tuesday's match at Palmerston Park was abandoned due to floodlight failure, as was the previous game between these sides in February. County were 2-0 ahead when the match commander called a halt to the action on 69 minutes.

On Thursday, the Scottish Football League board opted not to award County the points and ordered that the Dingwall side return to Dumfries this Tuesday.

The Victoria Park club were planning to lodge an appeal against this decision, but a compromise was reached and the SFL on Saturday night agreed to move the fixture to Stirling Albion's Doubletree Dunblane Stadium on Tuesday, with a 7.45pm start.

David Longmuir, SFL chief executive issued a statement which said: "Whilst investigations are underway as to the source and cause of the floodlight problem at Palmerston Park, we have decided to remove the risk of the same problem affecting this rescheduled match once again at such a crucial point of the season. We would like to thank both clubs and their supporters for their co-operation in this matter."

County's 1-0 defeat against Dundee on Saturday heaps pressure on Jimmy Calderwood's team, who will want to use this game in hand to pull clear of relegation play-off rivals Cowdenbeath.
