Caberfeidh defender Blair Morrison made it back-to-back successes at shinty’s annual awards ceremony after being recognised as the Camanachd Association’s under-21 player of the year.

The 20-year-old had landed the National Division’s gong the year before as the Strathpeffer club won promotion as runners-up behind champions Skye Camanachd.

This year’s honour was earned against the backdrop of a far tougher campaign with Caberfeidh’s promising start fading fast and closing with a run of one draw and seven defeats in the final eight matches.

Morrison, though, belied his tender years with consistently strong and mature displays at the back for Caberfeidh.

And he is optimistic the club, with Premiership safety secured, can fair better next season.
