JAMES McNeil (Oscars Bar C) won the Dingwall and District Pool League singles title for the second time in four years when he defeated David McDougall (Cromarty Arms) 4-3 in a closely-contested final.

The C team potter disposed of Daniel MacKay, Brian Cameron, Richard Ansell and last year’s winner, Andew Gollan on his way to the final.

Andrew McGhie was the other losing semifinalist, having lost 4-2 to David.

OSCARS Bar C won the latest team trophy up for grabs when they defeated their own A team 8-5 in the Corrie Entertainment League Cup final at the Novar Arms, Evanton.

The C team, who accounted for Novar Arms A and Oscars Bar B in the earlier rounds, were made to fight all the way by their opponents.

With the score tied at 5-5 the C team, who are still on course for the league title, took the next three frames to claim back-to-back wins in the League Cup.

Fixtures – Monday, April 3 – League – Novar Arms B v Royal Hotel, Cromarty; Dingwall 147 B v Oscars Bar B; Cromarty Arms v Novar Arms A; Oscars Bar C v Oscars Bar A; Ord Arms Hotel v Dingwall 147 A.
