Potential of Celtic loanee Henderson excites Ross County striker Mckay

Billy Mckay admits he is excited by the potential of Celtic youngster Ewan Henderson after watching the new addition showcase his skills in training.

The highly-rated Parkhead teenager joined the Staggies on a season-long loan before the international break, and could make his debut against St Mirren at home.

With the Dingwall team out to bounce back from consecutive defeats to Livingston and Aberdeen, as well as a League Cup exit to Partick Thistle, much of the emphasis in training has been on tightening up in defence.

But County’s co-management team are also keen to avoid diluting the team’s attacking potency.

Striker Mckay, last season’s top scorer with 20 goals despite breaking his arm in February, is intrigued by the prospect of harnessing Henderson’s creative talents.

Mckay said: “Ewan looks like he has an eye for a goal and an eye for a pass. I can see why he is highly-rated at Celtic.

“We’re excited to see what he can do on a Saturday and I’m excited to see if I can link up with him."
