Billy Mckay insists his spot in the Ross County starting 11 is always under pressure from Brian Graham and Ross Stewart.

It was the latter two who turned the game against Motherwell last week on its head, scoring the goals to help the Staggies come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1.

The Northern Ireland international has not scored since the opening league game of the season against Hamilton, but he says the strikers in Dingwall all support each other whoever is scoring.

"I'm always under pressure," Mckay reasoned.

"When you start thinking your spot in the team is not under pressure, that's the moment you let things slip.

"I felt like last Saturday was probably the best game I've played this season.

"If Brian comes on and gets a goal, I'm honestly delighted. When other players score I think you can see I'm the first to celebrate with them.

"It's a team game at the end of the day, when it becomes about individuals, that's when you start having troubles as a team. I've never had that since the day I walked in the door, so I don't think it's going to start now."

County make the trip south to Ayrshire to take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park this afternoon.

Killie started the league season with two defeats and a draw, but improved results in recent weeks have seen them rise up the table to seventh.

Mckay thinks their recent form is harking back to last season, when they finished third to qualify for the Europa League.

"They've got a different manager to last year, but they're still going to be a very hard team to beat," Mckay explained.

"I think they've gone back to the principles they had last year as well, so it's going to be a tough game but we're confident.

"If we play our gameplan like we did last week then I believe we'll get a positive result. We've won our last two, so if we can go there and get a result then our last game before the break is St Johnstone at home.

"It would be great to get two positive results before the break and see where we are in the league after that."
