Maryburgh take on Avoch in Highland Amateur Second Round

Several big names are set to exit the Highland Amateur Cup second round with a number of titanic clashes scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Ross-shire giants are set to go head to head as Maryburgh welcome Avoch tomorrow.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back from being knocked out of the Premier Division Cup semi finals last Friday.

Maryburgh suffered a shock 4–3 defeat to Culloden Blacksmiths with Avoch losing 2–1 to Loch Ness.

Avoch are undefeated in the league this season in third place while Maryburgh are in fourth place.

Meanwhile, Inverness Premier Division champions Loch Ness face a huge test as they take on Caithness champions and Highland Amateur Cup holders Wick Groats.

Loch Ness cruised into the second round of the competition when they defeated Inverness Athletic 8–2 with Wick Groats beating Dornoch City 6–1.

It is argued whoever wins this match will be favourites to win the trophy.

Current Inverness Premier League leaders Black Rock Rovers will fancy their chances of progressing to the next round when they face Inverness outfit Ferrybache in Alness.

First Division outfit Black Isle United face a tough task when they face Orkney heavyweights Kirkwall Hotspurs.

An Inverness derby takes place as NMM Sams face IRN Security.

Conon Bridge face a trip to Skye to take on Sleat and Strath in Broadford.

Lochbroom head to Caithness to face Staxigoe United at Bignold Park with Fortrose and Rosemarkie Union facing Sutherland outfit Golspie Stafford.

Ardersier also face a trip north to face Caithness Premier Division outfit Wick Thistle.

Bught Park is also set to host a Caithness versus Western Isles clash as it plays as a neutral venue when Watten take on Iochdar Saints.

High Ormlie Hotspurs take on Lochinver, Stromness face Harris and Ness take on Portree.

Pentland United face Kirkwall Thorfinn in Dunnet while Carloway face Benbecula.

Lairg Rovers defeated Barra 3–1 last week.
