Jack Mann has been named as captain for the Junior Tour Scotland boys' squad that will take on the Madrid Golf Federation in Santander in October.

The Fortrose and Rosemarkie club member was involved in the squad last year, when the annual fixture was played at the Renaissance Club.

However, this year the teenager is being entrusted with added responsibility, as he has been chosen to lead the team – meaning he will be working closely with the Junior Tour Scotland selectors over October 14 and 15.

Mann topped the Junior Tour under-18 order of merit, with strong performances in particular at Portpatrick, Arbroath and Royal Aberdeen.

That earned him a place in the order of merit finals, which will be taking place in Madrid in conjunction with the team fixture against the Madrid Golf Federation.

The youngster is a rising star in Scottish golf, winning the 2022 North of Scotland Under-18 Championship at Forres Golf Club, and taking part in the Scottish Amateur Championships at Royal Dornoch last month.
