Malky Mackay has warned his team they will need to show the same level of application away at Dundee tomorrow as they have in their last two games.

Both of them ended in draws at home against Rangers and Aberdeen, meaning the Staggies have only lost one match on home turf out of their last seven.

Perhaps their most memorable performance of the season so far came on the road, though, the last time they travelled to Dundee.

At Dens Park in October, County blitzed their opponents to win 5–0, a result made all the more remarkable given it was Mackay’s side’s first victory in the Premiership this season.

County cannot afford to go into the match believing a similar result will just happen, though. Another win will be vital given that Dundee are five points behind with a game in hand.

So Mackay has told his players that they will need to keep putting in the hard yards that they have in their last two games, away from home this time, to keep picking up results they can be happy with.

“I’m really delighted that we’ve only had one defeat in seven at Victoria Park, and this draw was against Aberdeen, one of the biggest clubs in the country,” he said.

“I suppose (replicating that away from home is) just about showing them the evidence.

“I can show the players that they’ve just played against Rangers and Aberdeen, and neither managed to beat us.

“We gave it a good go against both, so we have to go down there thinking that the game is going to be just as hard.

“Everyone’s vying for things in this division right now, teams are going through little spells of form. In the last couple of weeks some teams are picking up again.

“We have to make sure that we put the same effort into every game against every team, and if we do that we’ve got a group here that have got a never say die attitude. Heads don’t go down. We knew that we got a foothold back into the game when we managed to get the goal.”

Ross County will have to assess January signing Kayne Ramsay, who suffered an allergic reaction on the pitch against Aberdeen and was forced to be withdrawn at half time.
