MUIR of Ord athlete Donnie Macdonald is determined to help Inverness Harriers win the North District Cross Country League after claiming victory in the third race of the season at Nairn East Beach.

The 40-year-old crossed the line first to narrow league leaders Moray Road Runners’ advantage to just three points, with all still to play for in the two remaining league races after the new year.

It has been an incredible year for Macdonald, who back in March was crowned as the British over-35 cross-country champion at Forres.
