Four minutes added

83' White with the effort from range this time, parried out for a corner by Mehmet.

81' County hit the woodwork twice! First Stephen Kelly connects with the ball just outside the box which is tipped on to the bar by Mehmet.

Charles-Cook then tried to follow it up with a header, but the ball bounced back clear off the bottom of the post.

76' Spittal is replaced by Charles-Cook.

73' Yellow card for Vigurs for using his arm in an aerial challenge.

72' Fuchs comes off in United's final change, replaces by Hoti.

71' Yellow card for a tired-looking Spittal, who hacked down Chalmers.

67' Since making those first substitutions Dundee United have made a real effort to up the tempo, and they now look the most threatening side by far, but as yet Laidlaw still has not been tested.

66' Another change for the home side, Kerr Smith comes on to replace Mark Reynolds.

60' Chalmers, just on the park, hits the bar after cutting in on his left foot just inside the box.

57' Triple substitution for United: Appere, Pawlett and Chalmers come on for Shankland, Harkes and McNulty.

55' Scrappy start to the second half, and now Spittal is down with a knock and needs treatment.

The player are back out and the second half has begun!

Half time thoughts

If County fans had been hoping Dundee United would rest their star players for the Scottish Cup, the line-ups will have been a big disappointment – but United have not turned up anyway.

The Staggies have not been at their fluid attacking best either, but they have managed to take advantage with two goals.

Ross Laidlaw has had a very quiet afternoon so far, and if that continues County will be taking a massive three points back to Dingwall.

You would have to expect United to come out for the second half with a bit more fire though, so the question will be one County have faced many times already this season – how will they cope if things start to go against them?

Half time: Dundee United 0–2 Ross County

44' Gardyne gets a bit of space to head towards goal, but his effort is off target.

43' Yellow card for Iacovitti after a late challenge on McNulty.

38' Clark sends a free kick in a dangerous position high and wide of Laidlaw's goal.

27' Iacovitti doubles the lead

Ross County are two goals up after Alex Iacovitti converts from Blair Spittal's corner, which was helped on by Jordan White.

There seemed to be some confusion over whether it crossed the line, but the defender claimed it straight away and the linesman on the far side agrees with him.

What an opening half hour for County!

23' White heads County in front

County have had the better of the attacking play, and now they have the lead through Jordan White.

Gardyne fed the ball inside to Spittal, who had come over to the left from the right flank and sent a cross towards the middle of the box.

White managed to get ahead of his marker and pick out the corner, putting Ross County 1–0 up.

19' Gardyne just manages to keep the ball in on the byline before cutting it back to Kelly, who goes past his man and fires high into the side netting.

17' Spittal picks out Kelly with a cross-field ball, and the Rangers loanee takes it down brilliantly before laying it off for Gardyne to hit just wide of the mark.

14' Spittal's ball into the middle nearly sneak in at the far post until Mehmet turns it round the post.

6' White with a reaction header inside the home penalty box, but it goes over the bar.

4' Iacovitti forced off the pitch with a bloody nose forcing a change of shirt. He is totally fine otherwise, but John Hughes was not happy he was asked to leave the pitch at a United corner.
