FLOODLIT Friday on the road saw Ross County notch game number 40 unbeaten in league football.

The 0-0 draw at Tannadice – the Dingwall side’s fourth goalless encounter in the top flight from its first six games – saw County end the evening just a point off the pace ahead of the Saturday round of matches.

Derek Adams’ men gave an excellent account of themselves against the Tangerines are were almost in dreamland within five minutes of the kick-off when Colin McMenamin’s header came back off the woodwork. The big striker was unable to convert several chances which came his way during the course of the match.

United also came close in the first half when Ryan Dow’s effort came off the bar.

With Richard Brittain and Rocco Quinn both picking up yellow cards, it was County who actually shaded possession despite getting fewer shots away.
