Invergordon reinstated to Football Times Cup as Loch Ness kicked out and deducted league points after North Caledonian Football Association found them guilty of fielding an ineligible player

INVERGORDON have been reinistated into the Football Times Cup after Loch Ness were kicked out of the competition after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their first round clash.

The North Caledonian Football Association confirmed they found Loch Ness guilty of fielding an ineligible player in three matches this season.

The player or players have not been named, but the matches included Football Times first round and quarter final matches against Invergordon and Clachnacuddin A which took place on August 26 and September 16.

As a result, Loch Ness have been kicked out of the competition and both Invergordon and Clachnacuddin A have been reinstated and will face each other in a rearranged quarter final match.

Invergordon and Clachnacuddin ‘A’ will now face each other in a rearranged quarter final.The North Caledonian League have yet to played on a date to be confirmed.

Loch Ness were also found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in the North Caledonian League match on August 19 against Clachnacuddin A which they won 5-0.

Loch Ness won the original first round match against Invergordon 2-0 at Recreation Park in Invergordon.

Loch Ness then beat Clachnacuddin A in the quarter finals 8-1 before being ejected from the tournament.

As a result, Loch Ness have been deducted three points and Clachnacuddin A have been awarded three points.

However, Loch Ness have said they will appeal the decision made by the North Caledonian Football Association.

They said: “We will promptly engage with the relevant authorities via an appeal process, as we firmly believe that the club has not committed any administrative error and has diligently fulfilled all necessary requirements
