Invergordon hold off St Duthus comeback in five goal thriller in Ross-shire derby

INVERGORDON held off a fightback from St Duthus to claim all three points in the Ross-shire derby at the Recreation Grounds in North Caledonian League Division One.

Invergordon looked to be cruising to victory when they went 3-0 up at half time thanks to goals from Russell MacIntyre, Kyle MacDonald and Niall Docherty.

But St Duthus came storming back with Ben Bruce scoring twice, reducing the deficit to one withfive minutes remaining.

However Invergordon held on for victory and start the season with three points as they went second in Division One.
