Invergordon claimed the first silverware of the North Caledonian League season when they defeated Inverness Athletic 3-2 to win the Football Times Cup final at Golspie.

Invergordon took control in the first half when Jordan Knight gave them the lead after 31 minutes.

Kyle Maclean doubled their advantage to give them a 2-0 lead at the break.

Inverness Athletic pulled one back five minutes into the second half when Brodie Watson found the net.

But Ryan McFee restored Invergordon’s two-goal advantage with nine minutes left.

Dominic Macaulay scored in injury time for Athletic to set up a frantic finish.

But Invergordon held on to claim the trophy.

Elsewhere in the North Caledonian League last weekend, Tain outfit St Duthus recorded a 3-0 victory against Bonar Bridge at Migdale.

Jack Wardrop broke the deadlock when he gave Saints the lead after 23 minutes. Ben Bruce doubled their advantage four minutes after the break.

The game was killed off 15 minutes from time when Jack Kerr scored to bring all three points back to Tain.

Alness United were minutes away from a shock win over champions Loch Ness only for a late equaliser to deny them all three points in a 3-3 draw at Dalmore Park.

Loch Ness stormed into a 2-0 lead after 28 minutes with goals from Sam Urquhart and Connor Macphee. But Alness went in front 3-2 with Joel Burnett scoring twice inbetween a Luke Mackay strike.

But Allan Macphee rescued a point for Alness in injury time.

Elsewhere, Fort William won 3-2 at Clachnacuddin A, Golspie Sutherland won 4-3 at Thurso and Halkirk United ran riot against Orkney with a 6-1 victory in Caithness.
