Ross County have completed the signing of midfielder Scott Allardice on a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old's contract expired at Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the end of the season, bringing a three-year stint in the Highland capital to an end.

In that time, he made 101 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and being named ICT's joint players' player of the year in his first season with Inverness.

He also played a key role in Caley Thistle's run to the Scottish Cup final at the start of this month.

Coming through Dundee United's youth academy, Allardice made his senior debut at Tannadice, spending time out on loan at East Fife and Dumbarton, before moving over to Ireland to ply his trade for Bohemians and Waterford.

Now, Allardice bolsters a midfield in Dingwall that will remain without Ben Paton and Ross Callachan through injury, while Nohan Kenneh's loan from Hibernian has come to an end and David Cancola left the club on the expiration of his contract.

On the signing, Ross County manager Malky Mackay told the club's website: “Scott is an experienced midfielder who excelled in his time at Inverness CT who I am delighted to sign.

"He is a good professional and leader and will be a great addition to our squad.”
