Twelve-year-old Andrew Munro had a holiday to remember after scoring a hole in one at Tarbat Golf Club.

A HOLIDAY to Portmahomack provided a special memory for one youngster visiting the area with his parents — after he notched an unexpected hole in one!

Andrew Munro (12), from Milngavie, was on holiday with his mum and dad Anne and Simon and brother Matthew (13).

Andrew and Matthew had played at Tarbat Golf Club, Portmahomack, a number of times when previously on holiday in the area and were treated to their membership by their granny Katharine who lives in Morangie Road, Tain.

The family are regular visitors to Ross-shire and Mr Munro senior had traced his family tree back to 1738 in Portmahomack.

Andrew only started playing golf last year when he joined Hilton Park Golf Club in Milngavie, but in Andrew’s first ever round as a member at Tarbat on April 7, he registered a hole in one at the 135-yard seventh using a nine iron.

* John Greenlees recorded a hole in one at the 139 yard 16th hole at Tain Golf Club playing with a nine iron.

His partners were S Paterson and R Anderson.
