Hannah strikes success with bronze medal

Dingwall teenager Hannah Mackenzie put in a sensational performance at the 2018 Scottish Intermediates to win a bronze medal.

The Dingwall Fencing Club athlete took third place in the women’s épée competition at the national championships in Edinburgh.

Her achievement against the top intermediate level fencers from across Scotland was even more remarkable as she only took up the sport six months ago and was competing at her first national championship.

Mackenzie (17) said she surpassed her own expectations as she won 10 out of 14 contests at the tournament to make it on the podium.
