Jordan White hopes that claiming all three points against Hamilton Academical on Wednesday night will drive the team forward in their relegation battle in the Premiership.
White was one of the major catalysts of change for Ross County as they came from behind at New Douglas Park, scoring the equalising goal and then claiming an assist for Billy Mckay’s winner – all in the last 10 minutes of the match.
The Staggies were under no illusions of the importance of getting a result against the only side below them in the table – who still have games in hand over County – and White hopes they can take some confidence from it going into another important match tomorrow against Dundee United.
“It was a really big win for us, and hopefully that gives us momentum to go forward now,” White said.
“The game was open, both teams had opportunities. We were unlucky with Tony Andreu’s header, and thankfully when I came on we’ve got the goals.
“Look at the quality of our team, we’ve got that in us.
“At the end of the day we just take one game at a time. We won’t get too carried away with ourselves, but it was a great win and hopefully that puts a marker down.”
Substitutes really made the difference for the Staggies on Wednesday.
White himself came on to replace an injured Iain Vigurs around the hour mark, with Mckay and Michael Gardyne both making a big impact too.
White believes that just shows the ability throughout the squad, who made sure to credit Mckay for taking his chance for the winner.
“It was a great finish from Billy, but you look at the quality we’ve got in the team and the quality we’re bringing off the bench, we’ve got a good squad,” he insisted.
“When you’ve got players on the pitch like we did, you’ve got every chance, and I’m delighted that it worked for us on Wednesday.
“Hopefully we can keep putting it together and picking up results.”
