CONNOR Randall says going four points clear of the bottom is all the incentive Ross County need to defeat St Johnstone in Perth tomorrow night.

The Staggies moved one point clear off bottom spot with a 1–1 draw at Livingston on Saturday.

But it could have been more if not for Ayo Obileye’s leveller two minutes from time to cancel out David Cancola’s wonder strike on the stroke of half time.

St Johnstone suffered a 2–0 defeat to Motherwell at the weekend and Randall says the chance to put daylight between County and Saints is what will drive them to attempt to achieve a positive result tomorrow.

But he was still pleased to pick up a point at Livingston, despite being minutes away from victory.

“At the end of the season, points like this will become very important,” he said.

“We have another game within a few days and have to recover, that is the main thing.

“Saying that, it was disappointing not to win the game, but we will look at this as a very important point.

“We go into the game looking for three points, so the fact that St Johnstone are down there makes it a big game.

“But we will prepare for it as we do every game.

“If we can keep improving the way that we have done, we will get the three points on Wednesday.”

After Malky Mackay assembled a new squad at the start of the season, Randall says it has taken County time to gel, but their style of football is now producing improved results.

“Everyone is working hard with the manager and at the club,” said Randall.

“We have shown that we are making a step in the right direction.

“We are improving week on week and everyone is in a good place. There is a real confidence about the lads and a determination to do well this season.

“We have shown signs of that and we will keep working together to perform and make the season as good as possible.”
