Ross County have announced that defender Marcus Fraser has signed a new contract to stay at the Global Energy Stadium.

The 23-year-old defender has made over 130 appearances for the Staggies since joining from Celtic in January 2015, and was even stand-in captain at times last season when Andrew Davies missed games.

Not just an influential player in terms of leadership, Fraser showed his versatility by playing across various defensive positions last year.

And his consitency was unparalelled in the Staggies squad, as he was the only player to appear in every Premiership match for them.

County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell said that he hopes Fraser will be a key part of the club's future success.

"At a young age Marcus has already played a lot of games as well as taking on a great deal of responsibility in his time here.

"He has been a huge influence at Ross County and will continue to be a massive part of what we are doing at the football club going forward.

"Both myself and Steven are excited to again be working with such a hungry, ambitious player."
