Fortrose teenagers on verge of national call up after Scottish Championship success

Fortrose brother and sister Lucas and Anna Cairns look certain to have booked their places in the Scottish team for the British Schools cross- country international in Falkirk on Saturday, March 21.

Lucas was a clear winner of the under-17 boys’ race at Tuesday’s Scottish Schools championships at South Queensferry.

While Anna was second in the under-15 girls’ event.

The Scottish Schools AA have not announced their team but it would be unprecedented for a gold or a silver medallist not to be included.

Both Cairns siblings have a rapid turn round this weekend as they contest tomorrow’s UK Inter Counties Championships at Loughborough.
