He has taken temporary charge of the Steelmen following the departure of Steven Hammell who was sacked yesterday.

Hammell was dismissed from the position following Motherwell's Scottish Cup fifth round exit at Championship club Raith Rovers after their 3-1 defeat in Kirkcaldy.

Former assistant manager Brian Kerr also left Motherwell yesterday.

Kettlewell will take interim charge of the first-team until a permanent appointment has been made.

Kettlewell, who played for Ross County between 2009 and 2014, was appointed the club's under-20 coach in 2016. Under his management, County won the 2016–17 SPFL Development League.

After Owen Coyle resigned in March 2018, Kettlewell and academy director Steven Ferguson were appointed co-managers at Ross County.

Kettlewell was placed in sole control in June 2020 but was sacked six months later.

He was appointed lead development coach at Motherwell in October before becoming interim manager.
