And his first game in charge will be against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the Caledonian Stadium tomorrow.

Hughes signed a two-year deal to take charge of the Fife outfit who are languishing at the bottom of the Championship, with no wins from their 13 games so far.

Hughes was in charge of Inverness for two and a half years after being appointed in December 2013.

He guided Inverness to win the Scottish Cup in 2015 and achieve their best finish of third place in the Premiership before leaving at the end of the 2015/16 season.

In December last year, he took charge of Ross County and saved them from relegation finishing the season in 10th place before leaving at the end of last season.
