Ferries takes top titles in North Alliance competition

Billy Ferries came to the fore when he secured victory at the North Golf Alliance fixture at Thurso Golf Club last weekend.

The Tain golfer went out in one under par 34 then came home in 38 for the winning scratch score of 72.

On his way to victory, Ferries had a bogey at the fifth but pulled it back with successive birdies in the seventh and eighth holes.

He was four ahead of Thurso golfer Jim Sangster who finished in second place.
