Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson says the club are relishing the prospect of reaching a cup quarter final.

The Staggies travel to Partick Thistle tomorrow knowing that a win would take them into the last eight of the Betfred Cup.

County have been in imposing form so far this season, sweeping aside the competition in their group with four wins out of four.

So though Ferguson is not letting complacency creep in against a Partick side back on the rise after a relegation battle last season, his excitement is still clear to see.

“Stuart and I see this as a great opportunity to get to a quarter final of a national competition,” he said.

“Partick Thistle have recruited well over the summer, they’ve got aspirations of getting out of the Championship.

“Gary Caldwell is an innovative manager in his thinking, he works really hard in trying to come up with different situations and different things. We’ll have a real test going down there.

“We’ll be the favourites to win the game because we’re Premiership and they’re Championship, all different factors come into it but it’s a game that the players are looking forward to.

“For a club our size, the opportunity to get into a quarter final of a national competition by winning the game is something that we would all love to do.”
