Ross County right back Connor Randall believes the Premiership is so tight, that the next few weeks are huge.

There is still a cluster of teams in close proximity to each other, but that has changed from those at the front of the pack sitting in the top half to covering the entire bottom half of the table.

The Staggies are second-bottom, one point ahead of St Mirren, who have a game in hand and a better goal difference.

As things stand though, just a couple of victories could see County shoot up a handful of places, so Randall knows the importance of the coming weeks.

“Once we get a few results, and start playing the teams around us there will be some big games where we can pick up some big points,” he said.

“We just have to keep working hard to try and get those points on the board that we believe we can get.

“We believe in what we can do. We are just trying to get ourselves on the right path. The main thing is we start to get some results.

“We have had some great performances, and we haven’t got some results that we have maybe deserved.

“The important thing for us is to keep going and try to start getting those important points on the board we are needing.”

A trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen is next on the agenda, with the Dons not in the best of form themselves.

Back-to-back poor results against St Mirren should give County confidence that they are beatable, but Randall says they are paying no attention to anyone’s form other than their own.

“We don’t focus too much on their form,” Randall insisted.

“We concentrate on ourselves. It has shown in this league that anyone can beat anyone.

“We have got to go into the game confident, we’ve got to believe in ourselves and do everything we can through the week to prepare right for the game.

“Hopefully we can go out there and get the result and get some points we are wanting.”
