Dingwall athletes shine at Scottish Schools Indoor Championships

TWO Dingwall Academy athletes enjoyed medal glory at the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Alexander MacKay, recently crowned best under-16 athlete in Ross-shire, won the 60-metre hurdles with a time of 8.73.

He also came fourth in the pole vault and fifth in the shot putt.

Angus Davren came second in the under-16 high jump with a jump of 1.75 metres. He was third in the 60-metre race with a time of 7.44.

The event is sponsored by Rotary International and the presentations were made by Mike Halley, past governor of the organisation for the North of Scotland.

Mr Halley lives on the Black Isle and was very pleased that some of the medals went back to Ross-shire.

Lauren McCulloch of Tain Royal Academy took a fourth place in the over-16 girls 800 metre race.
