Dingwall athlete Louise Dytch powered her way to claim the women’s title in her debut at the Highland Cross as she became the only female rider to finish the course under four hours.

Despite being behind after the 20-mile run she pedalled her way into the lead in the 30-mile cycle to win the women’s race and never looked back to make it a Ross-shire double victory in the men’s and women’s races.

She finished the course in a time of three hours 58 minutes 53 seconds to claim the title of Queen of the Cross, beating her nearest competitor by over a minute.
