Caitlyn Heggie added another string to her bow with a victory at last weekend's Young Athletes Road Races in East Lothian.

The 16-year-old (below) finished 17 seconds ahead of nearest rival Millie McClelland-Brooks to win the under-17 women's race, in the process earning a place in next month's London Mini Marathon.

The Mini Marathon takes place on the same day as the main marathon event, and even covers the last 2.6km of the same course.

Heggie was not the only Ross County Athletics Club athlete in action at East Lothian last weekend, though, as there were two top-10 finishes for the club in the under-15 boys' race.

Lachlan Thomas finished sixth, while Andrew Baird finished ninth – and they could well have been joined by Kaeden Thomas if he had not fallen early on.

Calum Duffy finished 36th in the same race, while Flora Sutherland finished 24th in the under-15 girls' race.
