YAN Dhanda believes Old Firm performances this season prove he and Kyle Turner can comfortably cohabit the Ross County midfield.

The Englishman and summer signing Turner have displayed very similar creative styles in the Staggies’ side this season, with the latter replacing injured Dhanda to good effect in the victory over St Johnstone.

Both add inventive craft and propulsive running in support of the Dingwall team’s attack but, despite impressive form from both, the pair have not completed a 90 minutes together, and not started together, since the opening League Cup group games against Stranraer and Morton.

They have, however, played together for over half an hour in both honourable defeats to the Glasgow big guns, with Turner on both occasions being deployed from the bench.

Dhanda sees no reason why both he and ex-Partick man Turner cannot feature together from the off in coming matches.

Acknowledging the added competition for places, the former Liverpool and Swansea City talent said: “I don’t mind it - I know when I’m on the pitch what I am going to bring and I’m always going to create chances.

“Kyle did really well last week and obviously came on against Rangers and I think we play well when we’re on the park together.

“Obviously for me, if there are more good players in the team it’s good as, when I’m on the pitch, I can link up with them.

“But in terms of myself, I know when I’m out there I will be able to create chances.

“We gave Celtic a very good game away from home and we gave Rangers a good game at home, especially in the second half.

“We’ve also beaten St Johnstone at home so we can only take positives.”

Dhanda, a player at the top of his game right now, felt on another day County might have earned a point against the Glasgow giants, given chances passed up.

Moved to a more central role in the second half, County prospered in terms of an increased foothold in the match but couldn’t quite capitalise after losing two first half goals.

Looking ahead to the next test, a Kilmarnock side that have impressed and claimed the scalps of both big Glasgow clubs already, the 24-year-old stressed: “Of course we will be looking to win, but it’s another difficult game on an astro pitch.

“It’s never easy going down there away from home, and they are a good team and playing really well at the moment so we know it’s not going to be easy.

“Obviously we want to go there and get three points so we will do everything we can to do that.”
