Callum Morris sees no reason why Ross County cannot pull off back-to-back shock results against Rangers this weekend.

The Staggies defeated one Glasgow giant last Sunday when they knocked Celtic out of the Betfred Cup, but if anything there is an even tougher task awaiting them in 48 hours.

Rangers have an incredible record so far this season, conceding just three goals in their 15 Premiership matches as they hold an 11-point lead over their fierce rivals at the top.

After claiming victory as the big underdogs last time out though, County’s vice-captain has the belief that they can upset the odds one more time back on home turf.

“I don’t see why we can’t repeat it,” Morris said.

“Rangers are a well-oiled machine. We see that in their results and the amount of clean sheets they’ve kept.

“But at Ibrox earlier in the season we had chances and didn’t take them. They had a lot of the ball, but on reflection, we had a chance to nick a point.

“We take positives from that and from Sunday. We really need to harness that belief and positivity.

“All the onus and spotlight will be on them, it’s all about Rangers – and that’s ideal for us.

“We’ll prepare right and hopefully put in another good performance.

“For us, it’s about being resilient and standing up to whatever they throw at us. Hopefully we can do what we did on Sunday and play on the counter-attack.”

It is certainly not a challenge that Morris is shirking away from, despite the form of Steven Gerrard’s men at home and abroad.

In fact, the defender says County will relish the occasion.

“It will be tough, but we’re looking forward to it,” he added.

“These are the games, against the better players, everyone wants to play in.

“We all know our task in hand and how hard it is going to be, but I can’t see why we can’t come away with something on Sunday.”
