Ross County moved off the bottom of the table as they secured three crucial points against fellow strugglers Partick Thistle.

Partick actually had the better of the early going, but it was Alex Schalk who opened the scoring as the ball came loose after Max Melbourne's forward run, and Schalk produced a good finish from the edge of the box into the bottom corner at the near post.

And a couple of minutes later it was two. Schalk this time turned provider as his corner evaded Ryan Scully in the Thistle goal and fell to Ross Draper, who had a simple headed finish from a couple of yards out.

Schalk doubled his tally 10 minutes after half time when he found some space from a goal kick on the left hand side. He cut inside, picked his spot, and curled the ball into the far corner.

And Schalk would complete his hat-trick to round off the scoring. Marcus Fraser did some great work down the right hand side, playing a one-two with Michael Gardyne to find a lot of space inside the box. His shot coming back inside was saved, but it fell into the path of Schalk, who bundled the ball in via the bar to round off the one-sided victory.
