TUESDAY night’s trip to Stirling Albion is massive for Ross County after the weekend’s goalless Irn Bru Division One draw with Partick Thistle.

New boss Jimmy Calderwood saw his team pound Partick at Victoria Park, without finding a way through a well drilled Jags defence. This was also the third successive 0-0 result for County.

It now means that must go for all three points at Jocky Scott’s Stirling to try and kick away from the relegation zone.

Stirling prop up the division, but have been showing signs of improvement and the main challenge for County is to rediscover their scoring form.

The league table shows they are the lowest scorers, with only 14 goals netted in 22 games.

On Saturday, Garry Wood saw his header crash off the post and Steven Milne’s 20-yard shot flashed just over the crossbar.

Thistle came closest through Kris Doolan, whose 30-yard drive was saved well by goalkeeper Michael McGovern.

However, County continued to dominate in the second half, with defender Scott Boyd heading wide and sub Andy Barrowman steering his shot just wide of the post.
