Ross County will have to adjust to Premiership style

Steven Ferguson says Ross County will have to change their style when they step up to the Premiership next season.

The Staggies have largely been on the front foot this season, trying to break down teams who are content to sit in and frustrate them.

As the underdogs next year, those roles may reverse to an extent, but though in a perfect world Ferguson would like to maintain the team’s attacking style, he is well aware that will not always be possible.

“We would be silly to think that we will go up to the Premiership and dominate the ball like we did in the Championship this year,” Ferguson admitted.

“We’re going to have less of the ball, that’s just a fact.

“Obviously we will still want to score goals, we will still want to attack and have a go at teams, because that’s the way we want football to be played.

“Ideally I would tell you it will be exactly the same as it was last season, but I think we all know that’s not going to be the case."
