Michael Gardyne hit the winner in Tuesday's vital game against Queen of the South.
MICHAEL Gardyne struck to finally see off Queen of the South 1-0 on Tuesday and shoot Ross County into pole position to avoid the relegation play-off place in Irn Bru Division One.
The twice-abandoned fixture was switched to the Doubletree Dunblane Stadium in Stirling after Queens were unable to assure the Scottish Football League that their floodlights would be guaranteed not to fail for another evening game at Palmerston.
In February and then last Tuesday, County’s match against the Doonhamers in Dumfries was halted because of light failure.
The Dingwall club were raging at not being awarded the points after leading 2-0 in last week’s game with just over 20 minutes to go.

A win at Falkirk this Saturday – and anything less than three points for Cowden at home to Stirling Albion – keeps County up.
This is the ideal position now for the Staggies and it came thanks to their first-class performance on Tuesday.
