WITHOUT fanfare, SPL newcomers Ross County notched another milestone after extending their unbeaten league run to 36 games at Pittodrie.

A year unbeaten on league business has seen the Dingwall side run away with the First Division title and make a solid, if unspectacular, start in the top flight.

The Staggies held the Dons to a goalless draw in Aberdeen - a result which satisfied County boss, Derek Adams.

After a fairly evenly balanced first forty-five, the Dons had the better of the second period, squandering a number of decent opportunities in front of the 14,000-strong crowd.

With the matches between Motherwell and St Johnstone and Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Kilmarnock also ending in draws, St Mirren ended the day on top of the league with a 2-0 victory at Dundee.

Celtic - County's next visitors - were not in action this week while the march-of-the-weekend Edinburgh derby between Hibs and Hearts isn't played until Sunday.

Full match report and latest from County camp in next week's Ross-shire Journal.
