Ross County need to put in better performance against Celtic for dressing room pride

Michael Gardyne reckons Ross County have to prove a point to themselves in Sunday’s Premiership match against Celtic.

The Staggies were on the receiving end of a 6–0 thrashing at Celtic Park last month, conceding four goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half.

Less than two weeks later, County then took another heavy beating at the hands of Rangers in Dingwall.

After winning promotion last season and getting off to a good start in the top flight, those were a couple of results that crashed a harsh reality into the County bandwagon.

So Gardyne thinks personal pride is at stake when the Scottish champions come visiting on Sunday.

“I don’t think we’re judged on games against Celtic or Rangers from the press, fans, whoever, but in the dressing room we will always judge ourselves,” he said.

“We’re the ones out on the pitch, and to get beaten 6–0, it doesn’t sit well even if it is a Celtic or a Rangers."
