ROSS and Sutherland members of the North Golf Alliance will get their first fixture of 2013 under way on Sunday in Caithness at the Reay Golf Club.

Ross-shire golfers who participate in the North Scottish Golfer’s Alliance have another two weeks to wait before they get back into action at Spey Bay on Saturday, February 2.

Following the Spey Bay fixture and provided Alan Cameron, the Fortrose and Rosemarkie club champion plays, he will have added a fifth score to a mandatory six required to bring him into the frame for the Alliance’s individual scratch aggregate trophy with the benefit of two Ross-shire course venue fixtures to come.

Presently, Cameron, with two individual winning scores in the first half of the season, has a four round total of 279 which falls behind a six round total of 433 by John Campbell (Grantown on Spey) and the other leader with six qualifying scores, Robbie Stewart (Torvean) who is on 436.

Cameron’s forthcoming home Ross-shire fixtures will be at Fortrose and Rosemarkie on February 16 and Muir of Ord a week later, February 23, before the advantage will swing in Stewart’s favour with a home fixture at Torvean on March 2.
